Robert W Chambers 1895
in th’ auld Scottis leid
Alang th' shore th' clood waves break,
The twin suns sink behind th' lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Streenge is th' nicht whaur black stars rise,
And streenge moons circle thro' th' skies,
But stranger aye is
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that th' Hyades shall sing,
Where flap th' tatters o' th' King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.
Song o' mah soul, mah voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall freuch 'n' die in
Lost Carcosa
